Nudie Jeans Gritty Jackson Dry Ace x Tenue de Nîmes

To understand the craft of Selvage denim, think of it as the denim of slow living – ‘slow denim’. Selvage production takes much longer than conventionally produced denim, and only the best raw materials are sourced and used, with no exceptions.

Nudie Jeans reveals that ‘the process of producing selvage fabric is more time-consuming and has a lower output. Add to that, the shuttle-looms are often over 100 years old and need a lot of tender loving care in the form of maintenance by people dedicated to the craft.’

In collaboration with Tenue de Nîmes they have created 100 limited edition, hand-numbered pairs of Gritty Jackson TdN Dry Ace Selvage. 14oz. Japanese selvage denim.

This fabric is a 1950’s replica featuring golden button and rivets, back pocket embroidery with indigo dyed threads. All cotton used is organic and in true Nudie style – Free repairs forever.

And for those wondering how the heck dry denim is washed (when washed) – here’s a video by Nudie to walk you through it.
