What can 1000m², 600 liters of paint, 20 French and international graffiti artists mean? 1 night of incredulous painting, heaps of paint and 30 days of exposure in the 10th edition of Facing The Wall.
Held in a vacant building in the heart of Paris – the Barracks Reuilly, Festival Paris Hip Hop offered the 1000m² wet dream to 20 over graffiti artists to go nuts.
This is the graffiti artist and crew list:-
(We spent 30 minutes searching for each artist on Google, for our and your benefit…because we feel it is important to know, where they came from and which country they represent).
TATS CRU(U.S.A) x CAN 2(Germany) x ATOM(Germany) x MACS(U.S.A) x CASE from Ma’claim(Germany) x 2RODE(France) x RSCLS CREW (Singapore) x SONIC BAD (U.S.A) x TABOO1(Japan) x MORNE DMJC(France) x Batsh (Senegal) x DA CRUZ(France) x HEST ONE (U.S.A) x Kalouf (France) x Lazoo (France) x MARKO 93 (France) x NOAH TWO (France) x POPAY (France) x RAPHE HEC (France) x Soklak (France) x SWAY (France)
True to the spirit and temperance of the graffiti movement, this public exhibition will run for 30 days on. Expect nothing.
These are extracts from some of the individual artists’ instagram account or spectators who had beat you to it:
What we are proud of (being Singaporean), is that the RSCLS crew truly represents in a showcase like Paris Hip Hop. Mind you, we are a city which has only recently started to come around and consider graffiti art as Art. And kudos to RSCLS for keeping it real.
Heard all the rumours about Singapore being boring? Here’s an insight to them slowly coming around…an Off The Rails event happening on July 18. Better late than never to the party!
