v.a.u.l.t thinks WeSC is cool.
Not just because…
- they’re always so colourful (as you can see from their SS’11 ad campaigns below)
nor because
- they’ve just launched a global webshop here so their products like their popular headphones are finally directly accessible in Asia (especially South-East Asia!)
or that they
- have a cool section page online called the wescpedia which is a pretty brilliant way of showcasing a brand’s evolution to the world and archiving it at the same time
It is simply what they represent as a brand. I can’t say it better than them so I’ll put an extract from their press release here:
‘Welcome to the Superlative Nation. In the perfect world – that’s where WeSC Spring 2011 is at. It’s
where creativity is the currency and the cornerstones are freedom, social responsibility and action.
Where people have the drive and passion to do whatever they want to – it’s a constant WeSC state of
mind, where it’s the passion for life after skate, no matter of background or belonging, that leads us
forward and makes us reach new heights.
The Superlative Nation is about being – it’s staying true to the ideals that make a better and more
interesting planet, taking care of each other and letting go. It’s all about the people – the people who
share the same principles and together take them forward making ideas turn into reality. It’s an
infinite abyss of inspiration, talent and creative expressions – where the people and their aspirations
are the core that holds up the nation and makes it superlative. It’s a nation of good people doing
great things together, a nation where everything is just a little bit better.’
Join the Conspiracy
Launched in Stockholm, Sweden in 1999, WeSC is a truly global collective who believes in creativity and stands for it, not just like most of the world who just like to claim truth to it.
From artists to skaters, snowboarders to actresses, photographers to models, film-makers to DJs, producers to chefs to MMA fighters, these WeActivists are the offspring of WeSC and believed in the basic principles of creating via collaboration, way before it was the era of the ___ X ___.
Once again, in their own words, here’s the definition of a WeActivist.
With a global reach of 29 concept stores and 891 retailers in 25 countries, 2 WeSC stores finally got some Asian representation when they opened in HK recently – one in Causeway Bay, the other in Tsim Sha Tsui.
v.a.u.l.t will be sure to feature more of the WeSC collection and collaborations as well as their WeActivists. Watch for it! In the meantime, you can check out their site here.
