ART + DESIGN + PHOTO ART TOYS

KAWS, Yorkshire Sculpture Park & Longside Gallery, 2016

KAWS (Brian Donnelly) is an American Contemporary artist who is no stranger in the Pop Art Universe.

His latest exhibition is located within the scenic grounds of Yorkshire Sculpture Park, in the U.K, alongside Longside Gallery.

This is the first U.K museum exhibition of work by KAWS, whose wide ranging practice includes painting, sculpture, graphic design, toys and prints. The expansive Longside Gallery features the artist’s large, bright, graphic canvases immaculately rendered in acrylic paint, alongside towering sculptures in fibreglass and wood.

The historically designed landscape of YSP becomes home to a series of monumental and imposing sculptures in KAWS’s trademark style – nostalgic characters in the process of growing up.

We at vault-mag.com have spent a decent chunk of our salary on the KAWS Boba Fett, KAWS Astro Boy and KAWS Woodstock… so you can imagine how thankful we are to be in Singapore and not need to experience extreme KAWS envy at this display of items we could only wish we possessed.

This behind-the-scenes preview shows the installation of KAWS’ ten-metre-tall sculpture SMALL LIE (2013) ahead of the opening of new Yorkshire Sculpture Park exhibition.

Running from now until 12.06.16
